mom is where the heart is

mom is where the heart is

A new piece, made for a friend's 40th birthday in remembrance of her mother, using old silverware she passed down. This is the first piece I've completed since my show in Nov '09...and hopefully will not be the last in 2011.

I've had a hankering for more collage-y type things, so we'll see.

xoxo!

  7. Thought of your blog yesterday when I had to have my cat put to sleep at the vet. I understand a little bit of what you went through. Hope all is well in your world.

  8. Oh no Anonymous...I'm so sorry to hear that. It's never an easy thing and I'm very sorry for your loss. In my opinion, it's one of the highest responsibilities we have as animal caretakers...to ensure their passing is as compassionate & loving as their lives. It's the final gift we can give our trusted companions.

Quite awhile after my cat passed, I had a dream about him & in the dream, I had lost him & was in a panic trying to find him. What I didn't realize, was I had found him, but I just didn't recognize him--he was svelte(in life he was a big boy) and without his chronic ailments. When I woke up, I felt like the dream was him visiting me to let me know he was okay--and even better than okay--because he no longer was dealing with his life troubles. Still brings a wee tear to my eye to think about.
